After 6 hours of lessons with Jayanti, I was able to form basic sentences and understand many conversations. Jayanti was able to adapt her teaching to suit my specific goals and short time line. I was looking for a Malayalam tutor for my teenaged son in Mumbai when I chanced upon Jayanti offering online courses for learning languages. I had not thought of the online option before, but it worked very well for my son. There weren’t any Malayalam language courses available near our residence and the flexible timings of the online classes fitted well into his busy schedule.
We were very impressed with Jayanti’s methodical style of teaching from the very first session. My son started picking up very fast mainly because Jayanti was able to explain the nuances in the Malayalam language very well by comparing it with English and Hindi in which my son was proficient. Her professional approach helped my son in picking the language much faster than our expectations. We did only 10 sessions with Jayanti after which she herself told us to stop. Having laid the foundation it was now our turn to take it further by speaking in Malayalam with him at every available opportunity. Slowly but surely, my son’s Malayalam is improving and he is gaining confidence in speaking Malayalam.
All in all a great experience and I would strongly recommend Jayanti to anyone wanting to learn any of the languages that she offers to teach.

When speaking Malayalam I could make myself understood in Malayalam however I was lacking the fluency, pronunciation and vocabulary. Her classes provide me the opportunity to focus on proper speaking, correcting of grammar mistakes and reading fluently. I am a 24 year old American of Indian descent. Many times in my life I have been lucky enough to visit my native Indian state (Kerala) but I had always found it hard to connect with my relatives there because of the language barrier. I never learned Malayalam as I was growing up but I wanted to make the effort to learn it when I had some spare time after college. I learned about Jayanti teacher through an extended family member.
She has been my Malayalam teacher now for more than a year now and I feel that I have learned so much in that time. I can read and write the script, I can listen to my relatives speak, and I can speak myself, albeit not too confidently just yet. I think it’s just incredible! I have always had trouble learning languages and Malayalam is supposed to be the hardest one. Yet Jayanti teacher guided me through it.
She is such an incredibly warm and honest person. It makes it a privilege just getting taught by her. You can always feel the positivity and encouragement in her voice. There were many times where I would get frustrated with myself and she would always be there to pick me up. You can tell she genuinely cares so much for her students, a rare quality that makes learning with her such a pleasure.
She also has a great technical understanding language. She will be able to answer literally all grammar questions. I even learned a lot about English grammar with her! She will even mix in some cultural information as we are working, small tidbits that augment the learning experience in a refreshing way.
Hopefully now it’s clear that I cannot recommend her highly enough. I have been lucky to go to many excellent schools in the U.S. and thus I have had many great language teachers in my life but I can say with certainty that Jayanti teacher is the best of them. I am not done with her yet, but I am incredibly grateful for how far she’s taken me in my Malayalam journey.

I have attended online Malayalam sessions from Ms. Jayanti when I was in Australia. I did lot of research and found that she was the best. She was very punctual, the classes were well structured and she put in a lot of effort to make things quite easy for new learners. I was learning Malayalam at that time as my girlfriend and now my wife is a Malayalee. I had to learn basic Malayalam to have some meaningful dialogue with my wife and her family. I was very skeptical in the start about the whole online thing. But once I had a few sessions with her I felt them far better in comparison with the direct classes. She is very patient and makes learning fun and joyful. She is always there to help, I never felt like I was in Australia and she was in Kerala. She was using all the online tools at her disposal to erase that barrier. Whatever little Malayalam that I speak and understand now is all because of her.
I came to know that she is starting a new website to teach a lot more. I am glad many more students would be benefitted. My best wishes to her in this new venture and wish her many more success.

Jayanti has all qualities that a student can ask from his/her teacher. Her gradual yet engaging way of teaching suited a mature student like me and I bet she can manage any age groups with her fun and happy way of teaching. I am really bad at learning new languages and have no background in any of the south Indian languages but her friendly approach towards teaching really helped me keep up my motivation to learn. Within 10 classes, I felt confident that I can learn Malayalam and make basic conversations. Her methods really get on to you quickly and you grasp written and verbal language easily. We contacted Ms Jayanti to help us teach our then 5yr old daughter to read and write Malayalam.
It has been a real pleasure watching our daughter pick up the skills to read and write the Malayalam alphabet and read two and three syllable words. Ms Jayanti's ability to the point engage our rather distractable daughter by keeping the lesson engaging points to her high pedagogical skills. Our daughter currently is able to read and write and she is making an effort have a conversation in malayalam.
We will continue to engage Ms Jayanti to ensure our daughter acquires proficiency in the language.

“I was looking for learning Malayalam language because main office at my work is located in Trivandrum – Techno Park even though I work in Bangalore office. Most of my colleagues are Malayalies and apart from official meetings all conversations were happening in Malayalam even in Bangalore office. And I always felt that learning an additional language is equal to holding a PHD against your name! I did a bit of research and finalized on this course, because when I spoke to Ms. Jayanti, I understood that Malayalam was her mother tongue and she had enormous experience of teaching Malayalam to a variety of people with different background. I felt comfortable with her teachings and she even gave a demo of the classes. Entire language learning course was split into short, small sized sessions spread across a period. Most important point in this learning was my teacher. She understood my background, my current knowledge on Malayalam and my need very well before she started the sessions. She conducted classes in such a way so that I gain confidence in myself that I can learn the language and at the same time I enjoy the classes.
Slowly and steadily when I started speaking few commonly used words, question words numbers and small sentences, I developed more confidence that I can learn Malayalam. My only worry was teacher was strict on punctuality and I doing my homework (tough it was not much). Classes skipped due to my busy schedule were compensated on some other day. Even a little word or small sentence when I spoke, it was making big differences in the attitude when I interact with my colleagues from Kerala. Now that I speak Malayalam, it helped me to break the barriers with my team members and brought us closer. Also it gave an added advantage in my career. ”

Jayanti is an example of what a perfect teacher should be. Her impeccable punctuality, being on top of the syllabus and caring about the student is excellent and I had great time learning from her. This is the first time I've taken a paid language course as the previous trials were rigid and downright uninteresting . Jayanti made sure the comfort between the teacher and student is set so that the examples she gave in teaching spoken Malayalam were relatable, which made the learning much more fun and fulfilling. I have advanced to a level that I never thought of, within a short period of time. I'd recommend her classes for anyone interested in learning the beautiful language of Malayalam, on any level. This is because, since her full time job is also language teacher, she goes to advanced level by giving examples in English, even in advanced grammar.

Mrs. Jayanti’s teaching style is very methodical but at the same time very practical. She is very persistent and never gives up on you. When I met my husband from Kerala, I tried learning his native language through books and CDs as no courses for Malayalam were available. The result was very discouraging. Then Jayanthi's online class was recommended to me by a friend. Her one-on-one class is much more effective than a group and the price is affordable compared to personal classes in Germany or Australia.
